Colocation arrangement at Huanggang port to take effect on 31/7

The Huanggang Port Hong Kong Port Area Bill has been gazetted.

The new co-location arrangement at the redeveloped port will take effect on July 31st.

The new Huanggang Port passenger terminal is located within Shenzhen.

Under authorisation from China's State Council, the Hong Kong Port Area will operate under Hong Kong jurisdiction and laws, adopting the "collaborative inspection and joint clearance" model.

The clearance time at the redeveloped port will be cut from around 30 minutes at the existing Lok Ma Chau/Huanggang Port to approximately five minutes.

The government said it will work with Shenzhen authorities to advance relevant preparations and the opening date of the crossing will be announced in due course.
