The police is stepping up efforts to tackle illegal gambling.
Authorities bust a triad-run organisation, arresting 150 people suspected of accepting wagers with an accumulated worth of 320 million dollars.
The cross-departmental operation led to the seizure of 1 million dollars in cash, valuable items with an estimated worth of 4 million dollars, as well as records of wagers worth 320 million dollars.
The police deployed over 600 personnel between the 12th and 14th of this month to conduct searches at eight industrial units in Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin and Kwun Tong, four of which are believed to be illegal gambling facilities.
Authorities have so far arrested 126 men and 24 women aged between 18 and 75 on suspicion of accepting wagers and money laundering.
The police note the triad-run group began its activities in July last year, and was involved in football, horse racing and other sports-related gambling.
