Explosion in Guangxi kills at least 7

An explosion rocked the Guangxi city of Guilin in the early hours of Thursday morning, killing at least seven people and injuring 17 others, including a two-year-old child.

The explosion took place around 1:40 a.m. at a residential building in the city's Xing'an Town. The structure was engulfed in flames.

A nearby resident says they heard two loud blasts around 10 minutes apart in the early morning.

Glass windows in their home were shattered, and many doors and windows of nearby households and shops were severely damaged.

Among the injured, eight are in serious condition, including the 2-year-old child.
