Four arrested by ICAC for inciting others not to vote at LegCo Election

The Independent Commission Against Corruption has arrested four men for allegedly reposting an online post or leaving comments on social media to incite others not to vote or to cast invalid votes at the Legislative Council election this Sunday.

The four arrestees are aged between 37 and 62.

Their actions are in contravention of section 27A of the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance.

The ICAC will seek legal advice from the Department of Justice on prosecution upon completion of the investigation.

The ICAC had earlier charged three other individuals with the offence in relation to the current LegCo election.
