At least 24 people were injured in two traffic accidents that happened within 10 minutes of each other on Tsing Kwai Highway, with one incident involving a Kowloon Motor Bus ramming into a construction vehicle. Dash cam footage showed the KMB double decker travelling on Tsing Kwai Highway before slamming into a construction vehicle, after which the two vehicles continued sliding forward for another hundred metres. A construction staff managed to avoid the crash just in time. Rescue personnel were promptly deployed on site treating scores of bus passengers who were stranded on the side of the road. Some required neck braces. Another passenger was seen bleeding from their mouth. Sources said the bus driver was trapped in his vehicle until his eventual rescue. The double decker suffered extensive damage with its windshield partially shattered. Parts of the construction vehicle even managed to pierce into the bus. The incident happened at around 2 p.m. when the construction vehicle was parked in the middle of the highway while handling another traffic accident involving a Citybus and a truck. Just 10 minutes later, a Kowloon Motor Bus travelling from Wan Chai to Tuen Mun via the 960 route crashed into an engineering vehicle near Princess Margaret Hospital on Tsing Kwai Highway. Its driver and more than 20 passengers were injured and sent to Princess Margaret Hospital and Yan Chai Hospital for treatment.
