The Li Ka Shing Foundation says it will support 200 eligible liver cancer patients over the next three years, allowing them to receive histotripsy treatment at a cost of 50,000 dollars. In a social media post, the foundation shared photos of founder Li Ka Shing appearing on The Peak in an electric mobility scooter. The foundation says it is partnering with CUHK Medical Centre, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital for the programme. Eligible patients approved by the three hospitals will be able to undergo histotripsy -- a non-invasive tissue destruction treatment -- for 50,000 dollars, exclusing hospital assessment fees. The foundation says details on patient selection, consultation procedures and enquiries will be available on the hospitals' website.
