Police from China, the US and the United Arab Emirates arrested 276 suspects tied to "pig-butchering" scams in the first joint anti-fraud operation between the three countries. The Ministry of Public Security in Beijing said on Sunday nine fraud dens in Dubai have been successfully dismantled. Victims were approached by the fraud gangs via social media platforms to forge fake romantic relationships, before being pushed toward fake crypto investment platforms and losing millions of dollars, according to an initial investigation. The ministry said the crackdown represents a significant achievement in international law enforcement cooperation by Chinese police. It pledged to make every effort to apprehend suspects involved in telecom fraud and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of people in all countries.
