Police arrested a man on suspicion of connecting to a newspaper vendor murder case back in 1999. The man will be charged with a count of murder.

54-year-old man, surnamed Lin, was brought to Kowloon West Regional Headquarters on Sunday morning.

Speaking to the media, the police said the man was arrested in Shenzhen and was handed over to them by the local authorities.

In September 1999, three masked men chopped a 40-year-old newspaper vendor Ho Wai-har in Sham Shui Po
and fled the scene afterward. The woman later died from excessive blood loss. The police suspected the man was the three hitmen's recruiter, who also arranged a car for them to get to the crime scene.

Six people were arrested and prosecuted between 2005 and 2010.
