Worker died while working on a coal carrier in Tuen Mun

A 55-year-old male worker died after falling into a coma while working on a coal carrier in Tuen Mun.

The incident occurred at the terminal of Castle Peak CLP Power Plant.

Police received a report at about 10 a.m. that a man was found lying in the cabin passage while cleaning cinders on the boat.

He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital and was certified dead. 

Police said that the deceased had no suspicious injuries and the case was classified as an industrial accident.

A CLP spokesman said that it was highly concerned about the incident, and had immediately suspended the relevant processes, launched an internal investigation, and expressed deep condolences to the workers' families.
