Nearly 4.22 million visitors came to Hong Kong in April, a 10% increase year-on-year. Mainland visitors accounted for 3.1 million, an 18% increase year-on-year, while overseas visitors exceeded 1.1 million, an 8% increase year-on-year. Long-haul visitors saw a more significant increase, reaching 410,000, a 20% increase year-on-year. The Hong Kong Tourism Board said the Hong Kong Sevens tournament held last month helped attract more international visitors, continuing the growth trend. In the first four months of this year, a total of 18.52 million visitors came to Hong Kong, a 15% increase year-on-year. The Tourism Board said it will closely monitor the impact of the Middle East situation on air travel capacity and the tourism market, and flexibly allocate resources to attract more high-value visitors.
