A Sun Ferry vessel carrying 34 passengers and crew ran aground near Hei Ling Chau.
No one was injured.
The ferry was en route from Central to Mui Wo when the incident occurred during the early hours of the day.
There were 29 passengers and 5 crew members on board at the time.
Footage provided by a witness showed some passengers sitting on the cabin floor after the collision.
Marine police were called to the scene and assisted in evacuating passengers to the Mui Wo Ferry Pier.
No injuries were reported.
