And now for something you won't see at Hong Kong racecourses.

In Nashville, Tennessee, a renowned American steeplechase race came with a parade of foxhounds.

Around 25,000 spectators turned up for the 85th edition of this equine-cum-canine event.

More than 20 foxhounds, a breed specifically trained to run alongside horses and hunters, took to the turf course to kick off the Iroquois Steeplechase.

This type of racing weds obstacles and fox hunting together, according to race officials, so hunting hounds are paraded on raceday.

While the racetrack is not the dogs' normal working environment, they seem to enjoy the challenge that comes with kicking off the horse races.
