North Point restaurant’s suspected closure with unpaid wages to staff

A restaurant in North Point is suspected to have ceased operations, with employees claiming they are owed wages and compensation.

The restaurant involved is Sun Kong Restaurant, located on Marble Road. A notice posted outside the premises says the business has closed due to the expiry of its lease. Staff were seen moving mahjong tables, kettles and other items onto trucks.

The Labour Department says it has received requests for assistance from employees, mainly involving unpaid wages and dismissal-related compensation.
