United Airline flight struck New Jersey light pole whilst landing

A United Airlines passenger jet from Venice, Italy, struck a light pole on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday afternoon as it was coming in for a landing at Newark, New Jersey's airport in the US.
The airline said none of the 221 passengers or 10 crew members aboard United Airlines Flight 169 were injured.
Local police said a landing tyre and the underside of the plane also hit a truck, and the light pole then struck another car that was on the highway.
The truck driver was hospitalised with minor injuries.
United said its team is evaluating damage to the aircraft and is conducting a rigorous flight safety investigation.
