Woman killed after falling and injures passersby

A woman fell from a height at a hotel in Wan Chai in the morning, injuring a female passerby she landed on. At least four other people were cut by glass fragments.

The elderly woman who was crushed suffered a head injury. She was conscious and received bandaging from paramedics outside the hotel, before being sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

The hotel is located at the junction of Queen's Road East and Tai Yuen Street. Police received a report from hotel staff around 9 a.m. that a woman had fallen. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

When the woman fell, she caused the hotel's glass to shatter. The fragments hit three female passersby and a young boy, who were taken to Ruttonjee Hospital.
