Uber acquires Hong Kong taxi hailing app FlyTaxi

Uber has announced the acquisition of Hong Kong's homegrown taxi-hailing startup FlyTaxi.
In its statement, Uber did not disclose the acquisition price. The hailing platform says FlyTaxi will continue its operations after the acquisition.
Uber's General Manager Estyn Chung says combining FlyTaxi's deep local expertise and Uber's technology, the move will help accelerate the digitisation and expand the market of the city's metered taxi industry.
