Residents of the fire damaged Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po continued to go back to their former homes in batches to collect items. On the 12th day of the arrangement, it was the turn of residents of Hung Tai House and Hung Kin House to go back to their units. Some residents designated for the morning session prepared large backpacks. Accompanied by Social Welfare Department staff, they registered at the Kwong Fuk Community Hall and put on protective gear. Yesterday, a total of 117 households with 457 people went back to their units. One person was unwell. There were 9 cases of requests for police assistance. Some residents suspected that watches, jewelry, cash, and gold ornaments were lost. In one case, the unit was severely damaged, and after investigation, it is believed that the valuables were burned. Five other units showed no signs of ransacking. The police will conduct further investigations into the remaining three cases.
