The MTR East Rail Line Kwu Tung Station project has been connected to permanent power and signal system testing has begun.
It is expected to be operational as planned next year.
The MTR said testing will be conducted during the two "golden hours" after trains stop operating each evening.
The testing will include checking whether train doors can open and close together with platform screen doors, after the train has come to a complete stop.
The 12 escalators connecting the ground floor, concourse, and the platforms have also been installed.
Kwu Tung Station is the first new railway project to use Augmented Reality, or AR technology, which uses tablets and other devices to display the design concept.
By overlaying the real-world image with the model image, any errors during construction can be identified.
