Tryouts kicked off for next month's Cheung Chau Bun Festival

Tryouts have taken place this afternoon for next month's Cheung Chau Bun Festival.
Last year's "Bun King and Queen" -- Kwok Ka-ming and Janet Kung -- will once again take part in the annual festive event.
Starting at 2 p.m., 87 candidates competed for 12 positions in the actual scramble at the Pak Tai Temple Playground on the island.
Last year's male champion Kwok Ka-ming secured a spot in next month's match after placing third in the men's event at just 10.29 seconds.
His female counterpart Janet Kung placed first once again in the women's event at just 11.48 seconds, while six-time winner Wong Ka-yan completed the event in 12.72 seconds.
