Foreign Minister Wang Yi has arrived in Thailand in the second leg of his three-nation tour in Southeast Asia.

That's after Wang wrapped up his trip in Cambodia and met Senate President Hun Sen.

In Bangkok, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Government House in the morning.

Wang also held talks with his Thai counterpart.

Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier said the two would co-chair the third meeting of the China-Thailand foreign ministers' mechanism, aiming to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Before Thailand, Wang Yi visited Cambodia and met with Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn.

Wang stresses joint efforts to combat online scams are essential to protecting people's lives and property, and such crimes must be eradicated thoroughly and resolutely.

Wang adds that China would continue to play a role, to help rebuild trust between Cambodia and Thailand, and provide more platforms for direct communication between the two sides.

He also hailed Wednesday's inaugural China-Cambodia foreign and defense ministers' "2+2" strategic dialogue a success, reaffirming the friendship between the two countries.

Wang says amid a turbulent and rapidly changing international landscape, China and Cambodia will deepen strategic mutual trust.

Prak Sokhonn, meanwhile, addressed tensions along the Cambodia-Thailand border, thanking China for its mediation efforts.

He also expressed hope Beijing would play an even greater role.

He added that Cambodia is considering upgrading the dialogue mechanism with China to a "3+3" format, incorporating public security authorities into the high-level exchanges.

Following the hour-long meeting, Wang met Senate President and former Prime Minister Hun Sen, pledging continued mutual support.

Hun Sen, in turn, said Cambodia remains firmly committed to friendly ties with China, regardless of changes in the international environment.

Wang Yi is scheduled to visit Myanmar after Thailand.
