Addressing the latest ceasefire extension between the US and Iran, US President Donald Trump said he is not in a hurry to reach an agreement with Tehran.
He stressed he will not use nuclear weapons against the Middle Eastern nation.
This as Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei called upon his countrymen to unite against the enemy, while the Israeli military announced it is prepared and awaits Washington's signal to resume the war against Iran.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said Iran has been defeated by the US military, adding that he is calmly observing the current situation.
But I don't want to rush myself, you know.
Because every story says, "Oh, Trump is under time pressure."
I'm not -- no, no.
You know who's under time pressure?
They are.
He reiterated US forces will resume attacks on Iran if Tehran refuses to make a deal with Washington, but stressed he will not use nuclear weapons.
Why would a stupid question like that be asked?
Why would I use a nuclear weapon, when we've totally, in a very conventional way, decimated them without it.
No, I wouldn't use it.
A nuclear weapon should never be allowed to be used by anybody.
Earlier, the US president said he has yet to set a schedule for ending the war with Iran.
This as the US Central Command announced three US aircraft carriers are currently patrolling waters near the Middle East, with the USS George H. W. Bush patrolling the Indian Ocean, while the USS Abraham Lincolm and USS Gerald R Ford are in the Arabian and Red Seas respectively.
On the possible resumption of the war, Israeli Minister of Defence Israel Katz said on Thursday that his country's forces are prepared to resume military operations in Iran, and are simply waiting for Washington's signal.
Responding to Washington's claim that US forces have complete control over the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian authorities said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are prepared to break through American defences in the region.
Tehran also said it has implemented a toll scheme in the waterway.
