CityU President Freddy Boey steps down with immediate effect

City University of Hong Kong President Freddy Boey has resigned, citing personal reasons with immediate effect.

70-year-old Boey is from Singapore and previously served as the Deputy President of the National University of Singapore.

He assumed presidency of CityU in May 2023.

CityU Council's executive committee has named Provost and Deputy President Lee Chun-sing as Acting President.

The university adds that a global recruitment drive for a new president will begin shortly.
