The Independent Committee on the Wang Fuk Court Fire in Tai Po held its fourth hearing of the third round. The hearing involved two representatives from the Fire Services Department to reconstruct the events surrounding the death of firefighter Ho Wai-ho. Earlier in the hearing, witnesses said that Ho Wai-ho was found lying in the open space opposite Wang Tai House, but his breathing apparatus and other equipment were recovered on the 31st floor. According to regional fire chief Tung Wing-kei, who was in charge of firefighting equipment, the 8-liter oxygen cylinders used by firefighters in the fire had a lifespan of approximately 33 minutes. The firefighters' masks had a “satellite view” radio device and could display the cylinder's remaining capacity. Firemen could also press a button to call for help in case of emergency, and if they remained motionless for more than 30 seconds, a distress signal would be emitted. Regarding Ho Wai-ho's breathing apparatus, it was found to be functioning normally, but the "satellite view" and air cylinder were damaged. Tung said that the mask and breathing apparatus were separated, possibly due to disassembly during removal, but such damage was extremely rare and likely involved a significant impact. The hearing continued.
