Lenovo sets up AI Innovation Centre in HK-Shenzhen tech park

Computer manufacturer Lenovo has established an AI Innovation Centre at the Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone.
At the launch ceremony, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong says amid intensifying global tech competition, artificial intelligence and homegrown technologies are key to safeguarding cybersecurity.
An AI research institute is expected to begin operations in the second half of the year to promote real-world AI applications.
Lenovo says the centre will leverage Hong Kong's strengths as an international financial hub to connect tech development with funding.
