Foreign Ministry advice nationals not to enter US through Seattle airport

Foreign Ministry on Thursday issued a notice warning citizens of security risks travelling to the United States, and advice citizens not to enter through Seattle's airport.
The ministry said recently about 20 Chinese scholars travelled to the US and were subjected to "unreasonable questioning" by US Customs and Border Protection officers at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The scholars held valid US visas.
The notice stated that Chinese nationals planning trips to the US should "strengthen awareness, avoid entering through this airport...and make all necessary preparations," citing repeated incidents of malicious questions and harassments against Chinese scholars.
