The trial for the Evergrande Group case opened in Shenzhen yesterday and today, with founder Hui Ka-yan pleading guilty in court.

Hui was once considered one of China's richest persons.

The Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court held hearings yesterday and today for the Evergrande Group case. 

The Evergrande Group is accused of illegally taking public deposits, fundraising fraud, illegally issuing loans, and corporate bribery, among other charges.

Evergrande Real Estate is accused of fraudulently issuing securities.

As for Hui Ka-yan, he faces multiple charges including illegally absorbing public deposits, fundraising fraud, and embezzlement of assets.

Both the defendant companies and Hui made final statements. Hui pleaded guilty and expressed remorse in court. 

The court will announce its verdict at a later date.
