A unit in the fire damaged Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po is suspected of being burgled. The unit’s residents received photos taken by a social worker under the "One Household One Social Worker scheme", and suspect their unit had been ransacked. They have reported the incident to the police. Ms. Lee, a resident, said her parents and younger sister lived on a high floor of Wang Cheong House, the building where the Wang Fuk Court fire first broke out. On Monday, they received photos taken by a social worker and suspect their unit had been burgled. Ms Lee said: “My sister would tidy up her bed and room every day before going to work, but this photo shows the bed is messy, all the drawers are open, there's HK$30,000 in cash inside, and the jewelry boxes are open.” The photo angle is limited, but the family will have to wait until the 28th of this month to be arranged to go upstairs to verify if there are any losses. The victims have already reported the case to the police. Ms Lee said: “There's still some time before we can go back to the unit, so we're very worried about whether there will be any more thefts in the next two weeks. We sincerely hope that government departments can actively listen to the voices of the victims and take concrete actions to ensure the safety of our property.“ It is understood that the police have conducted further investigations into the incident.
