A total of 53 routes travelling between the mainland and Japan were cancelled last month, which is an increase from February. Mainland media reported that according to a local air traffic data platform, a total of 2,691 flights were cancelled throughout March, with flights travelling to Japan accounting for 49.6 percent of them. The figure is a 1.1 percent increase compared with February. Affected airlines include Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines. Most of the cancelled Japanese destinations consisted of cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.
