Both US and Iran claimed victory after the two-week ceasefire deal was reached.
In an interview with French news agency AFP, US President Donald Trump says US won a "total and complete victory."
Trump says, with Pakistan being a key mediator, the ceasefire is agreed upon the conditions that Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump says he believes China helped persuade its key ally Iran to negotiate.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council also claimed victory in the deal.
Trump initially said had Iran proposed a "workable" 10-point plan that could help end the war.
But he reportedly called the plan fraudulent later without elaborating.
Iranian media earlier reported that Tehran submitted a plan that includes 10 conditions, including halting the invasion, lifting sanctions against Iran, and paying reparations to Iran.
Trump has said ending Iran's nuclear program was a key war goal.
