As the war in Iran continues, US President Donald Trump announced earlier that the US military's operational goals in the region are near completion.

But sources said Iran's missile systems are still operating at full capacity.

This as more than a hundred experts on international law signed a letter condemning American actions in Iran, noting that US attacks may amount to war crimes.

Iranian media reported that at least eight people were killed and close to a hundred others were injured after US forces struck and destroyed the B1 bridge that connected Tehran and Karaj city in Alborz Province on Thursday.

Footage captured by witnesses showed plumes of smoke emerging from the devastated site, while local residents fled for shelter.

Reports said the damaged bridge was one of the tallest of its kind in the Middle East, and a symbol of Iranian architecture.

US President Donald Trump posted a video of the attack on social media the same day, warning Iran to cooperate with Washington on reaching a ceasefire deal.

Trump further threatened that he will destroy more of Iran's bridges and power stations.

Responding to the posts, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi stressed the US will not be able to force his country to surrender via the destruction of his country's infrastructure.

During an earlier speech, Trump claimed the US military has secured total victory over Tehran after four weeks of fighting, adding that Iran's missile and drone capabilities have been greatly reduced.

But Trump's "victory" speech seemed to have little impact on Iranian morale.

On Thursday, Iranian state media released a video showing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps placing a sticker mocking the US leader on a missile.

One sticker displayed Trump sitting on a bed along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The IRGC also announced that its missiles and drones successfully neutralised American military targets in countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, as well as damaging facilities belonging to US companies Amazon and Oracle in the region.

According to CNN, sources believe that Iran's missile systems are still operating and capable of causing widespread destruction in the region.

Reports said the weapons systems were not weakened during the conflict, given that they were strategically hidden in underground tunnels.

Meanwhile, more than a hundred international law experts in the US jointly signed a letter condemning American attacks on Iran, calling the military's actions a violation of international human rights and law.

The experts emphasised the attacks may amount to war crimes.
