Hong Kong hosts the China Chest Pain Centers Congress for the first time.
The 15th edition of the conference is held for two days at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre in Wan Chai.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau says the chest pain centre at Queen Mary Hospital was established in 2024 as the first centre dedicated to the ailment.
It obtained national accreditation in May with the median time from a patient's arrival to restoring cardiac blood flow cut by almost half to 53 minutes.
A total of 16 panel discussions and more than 200 seminars are held at the conference this year.
