As the Easter-Ching Ming Festival long weekend begins, many Hong Kong people are leaving the city for holiday. As of 10:00 AM, over 302,000 people had entered or exited Hong Kong, with over 246,000 departing. At Chek Lap Kok Airport, crowds were already busy in the morning. Some citizens departing via the airport said they bought their tickets close to the holiday, and due to the increased fuel surcharge, ticket prices were twice as high as usual. Other citizens said they had bought their plane tickets half a year ago and even created their own long holiday in advance to let their children "get their money's worth." The airport has also deployed additional staff in the departure hall to assist in guiding passengers. The Airport Authority reminds passengers to allow sufficient time to go to the airport and complete check-in procedures to ensure a smooth journey.
