Taiwan's main opposition party Kuomintang's chairperson Cheng Li-wun is leading a delegation to visit the mainland next Tuesday for six days.

In Beijing, the Taiwan Affairs Office says the exchanges and dialogue between Kuomintang and the Communist Party would have positive impacts on advancing the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.

Cheng will visit the mainland at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.

In Beijing, the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office says her trip makes up a key piece of exchanges between Kuomintang and the Communist Party in the "new circumstances."

On the energy crunch precipitated by the Middle East war, the island's ruling Democratic Progressive Party earlier stressed that oil and natural gas supplies won't be affected.

Beijing says China's comprehensive industrial system and stable market supply can provide a reliable support for Taiwan people.
