Kuomintang leader Cheng Li-wun to visit the mainland next week

Taiwan's main opposition party Kuomintang's chairperson Cheng Li-wun is leading a delegation next week to visit the mainland for six days.
In Beijing, the Taiwan Affairs Office says the mainland is willing to step up exchanges with Taiwanese people in various sectors based on the terms of the 1992 consensus and opposition to Taiwan independence.
Cheng Li-wun took up her role as the KMT chair in November. Her visit could mark the first official mainland trip of a sitting leader of the island's main opposition party in a decade.
