A knife-wielding man who was shot by police after charging at officers died after nearly 10 days in hospital. The incident took place in the early hours of March 21st along Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung. Police say the 43-year-old man, who was a construction worker, had been wandering on the roadway armed with a 20-inch knife. He was also seen waving it at passing vehicles. Police were called to the scene, following reports. After issuing verbal warnings and deploying pepper spray, the man was not subdued. Three officers fired five shots altogether at the suspect. He sustained wounds to the right chest and right thigh. Police say the man allegedly had mental issues.
