Australia police shot dead suspected police-killing fugitive

Australian police said they believe they shot dead a suspect who was accused of killing 2 police officers and seriously wounding a third 7 months ago.
There had been no confirmed sightings of 56-year-old Desmond Freeman since he allegedly opened fire on police officers who came to serve a warrant at this home in the state of Victoria in August.
State police said on Monday that a man believed to be Freeman was fatally shot by police at a remote location in the northeast region of the state.
Officials said heavily armed Special Operations Group tactical police were involved in a standoff for 3 hours before the suspect was shot.
