Trump claims damaging many targets in Iran, confident of 'regime change'

US President Donald Trump said "many targets" had been destroyed in Iran and that he was confident of a "regime change." Trump also raised the idea of US forces seizing Iran's Kharg Island, its main oil terminal in the Persian Gulf.
Iran said its forces were prepared to confront a US ground incursion.
This, as the country and Israel continued to strike each other with missiles.

Trump also said that Iran had agreed to allow 20 ships carrying oil through the Strait of Hormuz starting Monday morning and continuing over the next few days "out of a sign of respect."
Trump also responded to a question about Iran's stance on the 15-point ceasefire plan the US has proposed.
He said: "And we will, probably I think we'll make a deal with them. Pretty sure, but it's possible we won't. But we've had regime change if you look already, because, the one regime was decimated, destroyed. They're all dead. The next regime is mostly dead. And the third regime, we're dealing with different people than anybody's dealt with before. It's a whole different group of people. So I would consider that regime change. And frankly, they've been very reasonable."
"So I think we've had regime change. Yeah, they came back on the 15-point plan. They gave us most of the points. Why wouldn't they?"
Trump also raised the idea of US forces seizing Iran's Kharg Island, its main oil terminal in the Persian Gulf. "Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don't. We have a lot of options," Trump told the Financial Times in an interview Monday.
Trump's comments come as Iran's joint command spokesperson warned against any potential US ground operation on Iranian soil.
In a video address, Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari said Iranian forces were prepared to confront a US ground incursion.
Zolfaghari said US President Trump "beats the drum of a threat in the morning, and retreats from it by the evening of the same day. At one moment he speaks of negotiations, and shortly afterward he decides to manage the war."
He said this this "unbalanced and deceitful individual has inflicted extensive damage on the people of the United States, Europe, and countries around the world, especially the countries of West Asia."
The tensions continue to mount as Pakistan's foreign minister said Islamabad will soon host talks between the US and Iran.
Iran's energy ministry says power was cut in Tehran and Alborz provinces after attacks on electricity facilities.
The state media reports did not say who attacked.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy, Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, said he estimated the Tehran power grid will gradually return and customers will be relieved of the outage.
Late on Sunday, Israel's military said that over the past 24 hours its fighter jets had dropped more than 120 munitions in Tehran, targeting sites used for weapons research, development and production.
Meanwhile, missile fragments that fell on a factory outside of the southern Israeli city of Beersheba set a pesticide tank on fire, according to Israel's Fire and Rescue, sending black plumes of smoke and billowing flames high into the air.
