Iran power cut after attacks

Iran's energy ministry says power was cut in Tehran and Alborz provinces after attacks on electricity facilities. 

The state media reports late Sunday did not say who attacked.

Speaking on state broadcaster IRIB, Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy, Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, said "in Tehran as well, in parts of eastern Tehran-Doushan Tappeh, Resalat, and Nezamabad-we also lost one transmission station due to the same attacks that occurred tonight."

"I think in the east of Tehran area, we will be able to restore the network sooner than in Alborz Province, and in less than twenty minutes, God willing, I estimate that the Tehran power grid will gradually return and customers will be relieved of the power outage," said Rajabi Mashhadi. 

Late on Sunday, Israel's military said that over the past 24 hours its fighter jets had dropped more than 120 munitions in Tehran, targeting sites used for weapons research, development and production.
