New data centre park breaks ground in Sandy Ridge, Northern Metropolis

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Sandy Ridge data facility in the Northern Metropolis.
Spanning over 110,000 square metres with a total floor area of 250,000 square metres, nearly 90 percent of the facility will be dedicated to high-end data centres.
Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong said it is going to be a core engine that drives the city's artificial intelligence industry.
It is expected to begin operations in 2029.
By 2032, the facility is projected to boost Hong Kong's computing power to 36 times its current capacity.
