According to Israel's rescue service Magen David Adom, at least 11 people suffered light injuries from an Iranian attack on a town in central Israel.

Footage showed damage to buildings and vehicles in Eshtaol, near Jerusalem where local residents reeled from the impact of the blast. Scores were hurt while running to shelters.

Iranian-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for a missile attack on Israel's sensitive military sites in the south of the country, after Israelis announced they had intercepted a missile. It marked the first time Israel has faced fire from Yemen since the war with Iran last month.

Meanwhile in Lebanon's southern district of Jezzine, at least two journalists lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on a car at noon Saturday.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack on civilians as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
