Chief Executive John Lee met with the visiting Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong to discuss deepening co-operation. Wong also visited the Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone in the afternoon.

John Lee encouraged Singaporean enterprises to establish a presence in the Northern Metropolis and the Hong Kong Park of the Hetao innotech zone. Wong said that Singapore and Hong Kong face healthy competition and can cooperate for win-win results.

This marks Wong's first visit to Hong Kong after becoming Prime Minister of Singapore.

Apart from Chief Executive John Lee, Financial Secretary Paul Chan, and multiple bureau chiefs also received the delegation.

Chief Executive JOHN LEE: "We also have a lot of common beliefs. We believe in free trade, we believe in multilateralism, we believe in rules based organisations and we believe in Win Win, creating a bigger cake for everybody. I'm positive that your visit to Hong Kong on this occasion will be a positive one."

Singapore Prime Minister LAWRENCE WONG: "As you said, our two cities share a lot in common. We are hubs for our respective regions. And while there is some competition from time to time, I think it is healthy competition, and more importantly, when we connect with one another, the pie grows, and we both benefit."
