The Registry of Trade Unions gazetted that the Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union (HKPTU) has dissolved on Tuesday.
The HKPTU, established in 1973, aimed to advocate for teachers' rights. During the 2019 Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill protests, the union called for school strikes.
In August of 2021, the HKPTU announced its dissolution, and the process was finalized this month.
