Israel continued to pound Lebanon with missiles on Thursday, as the wider Middle East War continues. Israeli strikes continued in southern Lebanon on Thursday, near the coastal city of Tyre. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country's military is expanding an area it controls along the border with Lebanon as fighting with Hezbollah continues and Israeli troops push through more villages in the area. During a video call with officials, Netanyahu said the expansion aims to remove the threat of anti-tank missiles and create a larger buffer zone. He said this matter is also connected to the overall campaign with Iran, contrary to what is reported in the media. The Israeli military said its troops were continuing ground operations in southern Lebanon. A video released by the Israel Defense Forces, showed soldiers from the Golani brigade operating in the area. Israel has moved several thousand soldiers into southern Lebanon in recent weeks in what it says is a defensive move to protect its northern border communities. Those soldiers have begun to move further north as Israel expands an operation it says is aimed at removing Hezbollah from southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said one of its soldiers was killed during the latest combat operations in southern Lebanon. This brings the number of Israeli soldiers killed there to three.
