Hospital Authority approves 210000 fee waiver applications

Health Secretary Lo Chung-mau on Wednesday said that the Hospital Authority has approved about 210,000 fee waiver applications since the implementation of a public hospital revised charge scheme.
That figure is 15 times the annual approved number before the revision.
The revised charge scheme was introduced in January.
Speaking at the Legislative Council, Health Secretary Lo Chung-mau said about 200,000 patients of the approved applications were not previously under the waiver scheme.
