Wang Fuk Court fire inquiry committee to hold more hearings

The independent committee investigating the deadly Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po will hold two additional rounds of hearings. That means a total of 13 sessions will be held by the end of the month.

The second round will take place from April 8 to 17 with six sessions, while the third round runs from April 20 to 30. Hearings will continue to be held in Central, with a live broadcast at the Central Library. There will be 360 public seats. Half will be reserved for Wang Fuk Court residents with booking open Wednesday morning.

The first round, consisting of eight hearings, has already completed two sessions. On Tuesday morning, government representatives will deliver opening statements, followed by testimonies from witnesses, including three Wang Fuk Court residents in the afternoon. This round will continue until April 2. Further hearings are scheduled for May.
