Deadly Hengqin break-in under probes after female university student is killed

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a suspected robbery turned fatal in Hengqin, Zhuhai.
One of two female university students attacked later died.
The robbery unfolded last Friday night, when the suspect allegedly broke into a residential unit and attacked the two victims.
The residential estate sits near the Macao border and is home to a mix of middle-class residents with cross-border students to Macao.
Some students who are from the same university as the deceased say they thought it would be safer living in Zhuhai than Macao until the deadly robbery came to light.
More investigations are under way.
