Witness testimony hearing for Tai Po fire sets for Tuesday

The Independent Committee investigating the Tai Po fire will hear the testimony of witnesses on Tuesday. The committee completed its opening submission last Friday.
The first two public hearings for the Tai Po blaze tragedy took place in Central on Thursday and Friday.
While the upcoming hearing is scheduled on Tuesday, the committee has not revealed the list of witnesses who would present at the testimony.
But Victor Dawes, Senior Counsel of the committee, said two directors of Prestige Construction and Engineering, the contractor of Wang Fuk Court, had only submitted written testimony and refused to attend the hearings.
Chief Executive John Lee earlier said that the government would exercise legal authority on anyone who tries to flee from responsibility.
