Highways Department conducts drills to prepare for the rainy season

The Highways Department, together with road maintenance contractors, conducted drills to prepare for the rainy season.

The department simulated patrols of major roads during storms and handling of emergencies to enhance its response capabilities.

For high-flood-risk locations and drainage pumping station equipment within tunnels, contractors were instructed to conduct advance inspections. Regular inspections and maintenance of roadside slopes will also be carried out to prevent landslides.

The department stated that it will continue to implement a series of preventative measures, strengthen coordination and command capabilities, and familiarize itself with new roads.
