Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that his country is not seeking conflict or war with Muslim states, condemning the US and Israel for creating problems.

Pezeshkian said Washington has been falsely portraying Tehran as moving towards nuclear weapons.

He made the remarks in an Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz message on Saturday.

Pezeshkian said Iran stands ready to resolve all problems with its neighbours and proposed to form an "Islamic assembly of the Middle East" to foster peace, security and stability. He said, "We do not need the foreigners' presence in the region."

In regards to recent tensions, Pezeshkian affirmed his country harbours no desire to have any difference or conflict with Muslim countries, referring to them as "brothers."

He also reiterated Iran's rejection of atomic arms or any weapons of mass destruction, citing a religious decree from former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
