Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his team was expecting a meeting with the American side in the US on Saturday to discuss the continuation of peace talks.

This as European Union leaders lashed out at Viktor Orban after accusing the Hungarian leader of blocking major aid to Ukraine, as as it continues to fight against Russia's invasion.

A Russian drone strike early Thursday damaged houses in Ukraine's Black Sea port of Odesa where three people were injured.

Emergency Services show residential buildings in ruins with rescuers extinguishing fires.

Several high-rise apartments were effected with some floors on fire.

This as Ukraine's army is trying to solve one of its biggest wartime challenges - how to train soldiers quickly, consistently and effectively across a military that has expanded rapidly in recent years and keeps receiving recruits.

After four years of war, training standards still vary across units.

The Third Army Corps and the Khartia Corps have become among the most capable formations, with some of the highest training standards, and Ukraine now aims to extend that approach across the military.

The project aims to ensure that soldiers, sergeants and officers from different units can operate seemlessly together on the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the U.S. notified his team saying the trilateral peace talks may resume soon. "It depends on all of us together to make sure the Russians do not come to these talks feeling that their position has grown much stronger," Zelenskyy said.

And European Union leaders criticised Hungarian leader Viktor Orban, accusing him of blocking major aid to Ukraine worth 90 billion euros to score points at home ahead of his country's elections.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said: "So let us be clear about where we stand. The loan remains blocked because one leader is not honouring his word. But let me reiterate what I already said in Kyiv. We will deliver one way or the other. So yes, we have challenging tasks ahead of us, but today we have strengthened our resolve."
